LATEST DANIELS COMMERCIAL DECEPTIVE
PORTRAYS SUPERVISOR AS "UNION WORKER" TO PROMOTE ANTI-LABOR LAW

Governor Daniels is continuing his attacks on collective bargaining rights of Hoosier workers with another ad funded by secret donors. This latest television commercial attacking working families and promoting false claims about "Right to Work for Less" features an employee of a company that is supporting Right to Work for Less and is a contributor to Gov. Daniels and other Republicans. The ad was paid for by the Indiana Opportunity Fund, whose funders have not been disclosed, which also begs the question.. is this same company also paying for the ads?

The Facts:

• Michael Manship is actually a FIELD SUPERVISOR for Brandt Construction, a member of management, not a rank-and-file union member as the ad implies.
• The ad says that a "Right to Work" law "will get this state jobs" and "there would be more work available.. for everybody," but provides no facts to support any of these claims.
• Brandt Construction is a non-union contractor and a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors Executive Club, an interest group actively supporting "Right to Work" legislation.
• Brandt Construction and its Executive Vice President, Harold Sattison, have given $5,000 to Mitch Daniels' campaigns.
• Brandt Construction and its executives have contributed thousands of dollars to the Indiana Merit Construction PAC of the Associated Builders and Contractors.
• Indiana Merit Construction PAC has in turn funneled tens of thousands of dollars to Republican candidates for House and Senate and to Governor Daniels' Aiming Higher PAC.
• Brandt Construction is currently bidding on an Indiana University project. Brandt has been awarded previous contracts under the Daniels administration.
• Governor Daniels still refuses to reveal who the donors to the Indiana Opportunity Fund.

The Truth:

If you follow the money, it is clear to see that Brandt Construction and its management are heavily invested in the "Right to Work" issue. Mr. Manship's misleading claims are meant to deceive the public into believing that "Right to Work" would be beneficial to Indiana, when in fact this deceptive legislation will lower wages for all Hoosier working families.
